Alhamdulillah, Al Barkah Credit & Co-operative Society is completing its 4-year journey and entering its 5th year, and is going to hold its Annual General Meeting. Knowing this fills me with great joy. On this occasion, I congratulate all the officeholders and members of this Society and pray to Allah that He grants the institution ever-increasing success in fulfilling the purpose for which it was established.
It is well known that the Muslim Ummah’s declining condition is significantly tied to its economic situation. While the middle and lower classes of the Ummah face economic crises and are caught in the cycle of interest, drifting away from Islamic values, institutions like Al Barkah are stepping forward — working to properly implement Islamic finance in society, develop an interest-free economic system, cultivate small savings habits, and improve the economic condition of the Muslim Ummah. Such institutions should be welcomed, and supporting them as much as possible is the responsibility of the entire Ummah.
Established in 2021, this institution has grown from 200 members to 3,500 members in four years, serving thousands of people by providing interest-free financing and easing their life’s difficulties. I pray to Allah for His help in this great mission — that this institution succeeds in improving the Ummah’s economic condition, that the blessings of Islamic finance reach the people, and that people’s perception is positively transformed in favor of Islam. I am very pleased that Al Barkah Credit Co-operative Society, Ahmedabad, is doing excellent work for the service of the people. By providing interest-free financial services in accordance with Shariah and helping those in need, they have shown a new direction in the field of finance.
By making people partners rather than debtors, they have set a fine example of justice and cooperation. Al Barkah Society, through this initiative, has not only provided convenience and relief to people but has also lit a flame of hope for establishing a value-based financial system in society — one that can serve as a guiding light for many other regions, InshaAllah.
