Established under the Gujarat Co-operative Societies Act, 1961,
Al Barkah Credit & Consumer Co-operative Society was founded on
with the mission to provide an
interest-free (Riba-free) financial model rooted in Islamic ethical
principles, helping people break free from exploitative interest-based lending
(banks, moneylenders, and informal savings groups).
Purpose of Establishment
- Cultivate the habit of saving and the spirit of mutual cooperation among
members, and protect their savings. - Provide financing to members to meet their financial needs
on easy, interest-free terms. - Invest members’ funds in various businesses for lawful (Halal)
income. - Purchase essential goods for members’ household and business needs.
- Undertake activities that support the holistic development of members within
the framework of society rules and cooperative law.
Who Can Join
Any resident of Ahmedabad city can become a member by submitting
valid proof of residence and purchasing at least one share (₹100 per share).
The Society operates with full transparency, free from any malpractice or bias,
offering interest-free microfinance services across Ahmedabad —
serving entrepreneurs, unemployed youth, women in business, and the
underprivileged regardless of religion or caste.
